Old Palm Clubhouse
Even before you enter Old Palm Golf Club’s clubhouse, you might spend just a moment thinking about the celebrated architect of the 1920s, Addison Mizner: His work was our inspiration.
After the completion of the Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Mizner devoted himself to building “the world’s most architecturally beautiful playground.” His style was, according to one critic, “simple … yet rich in delights.” This same inimical style is reflected in both the exterior and interior of Old Palm’s clubhouse.
Elegant and opulent, yet warm and welcoming, the Old Palm Clubhouse is a focal point of Old Palm Golf Club, a haven for relaxation, enjoyment and indulgence. A place where in Mizner’s own words, “No wish goes unfulfilled, no want unsatisfied.”
Rather than over-the-top grandeur, the emphasis is on intimacy; it feels more like a home than a clubhouse. Ceilings of cypress with a liberal use of Portuguese tile murals throughout set off comfortable seating, sophisticated yet not at all stuffy. As per the wishes of Raymond Floyd’s wife, Maria, Old Palm’s Clubhouse, was created to be comfortable and inviting extension of your own home.
Actually, Mrs. Floyd’s greatest contribution is the Women’s Lounge. Most golf clubs cater to their male members; women’s facilities are almost an afterthought. Not so at Old Palm. The Women’s Lounge is private, elegant and inviting, with an intimate living room for lunch and conversation, and full spa treatment rooms. Plus there’s a generously proportioned veranda overlooking the waterfall behind the dining room.
As you might expect, The Men’s Lounge is equally spectacular, with a spectacular view of the golf course from its private terrace. Amenities include a spacious locker room, spa treatment suites, a steam room, media center and of course a full bar.
For those times when business takes precedence over golf, the Clubhouse also boasts an expansive boardroom with video conferencing and everything else you need for a constructive session.
The Living Room and other seating areas provide plush, deep furniture beckoning members to relax in ultimate comfort. Then, too, there’s the Wine Room in the cellar, well stocked with a superb selection of wines from around the world: The perfect place for an intimate private celebration or a party for close friends.
Members and guests enjoy the Clubhouse as a second home, for sumptuous dinners and casual lunches, for fitness training and spa treatments, an after-round cocktail, and simply to be in the company of friends.
Enjoy the greatest of all luxuries at Old Palm Golf Club: the luxury of being yourself.
